On Friday 3 July, the Albany Boatshed and Foreshore come alive with Food Truck Friday and Foreshore Friday. From 5:30pm, enjoy a feast by the waterfront with nine fantastic vendors serving everything from fresh oysters, pizza and hot dogs to halloumi, churros, donuts, coffee and ice cream.
Then on Saturday 4 July, the Boatshed transforms for All At Sea Saturday — a fun-filled family day featuring face painting, Critters Up Close, hair braiding, mermaid meet-and-greets, cooking demonstrations with Nilla, and plenty more.
The school holidays will be packed with entertainment, thanks to the Maritime Movies and Treasure Trail, offering fun for the whole family.
The popular Maritime Menu Map returns throughout July, inviting locals and visitors to explore Albany one bite at a time
From 10–12 July, the Albany International Folk ’n’ Shanty Festival joins the celebrations with an Irish theme. Expect a lively mix of traditional and contemporary music, dancing, storytelling, and plenty of folk and shanty favourites.
On 16 July, maritime archaeologist Dr Ross Anderson presents South Coast Shipwrecks and Submerged Stories, sharing fascinating insights into Western Australia’s maritime heritage and the secrets hidden beneath our coastline.
Then on 23 July, local sailor Nicola Edwards takes the stage with 42,000 Nautical Miles: One Incredible Journey, recounting her extraordinary experience competing in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race — one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges.
With activities happening across Albany, including the Historic Whaling Station, Museum of the Great Southern and Albany Public Library, there’s something for everyone.
